Georgia’s Lake Country comprises the cities of Madison, Greensboro, Milledgeville, and Eatonton. The four cities have a combined population of 32,626, with Milledgeville being the most populous. With two lakes covering 35,000 acres and 790 combined miles of shoreline, 10 golf courses, and expansive history, these cities have a lot to offer. The highest point in the state is Brasstown Bald at 1,458 feet, and the lowest point is the Atlantic Ocean.

Madison is a charming southern town, with one-of-a-kind shops, local eateries, and one of Georgia’s largest state parks. The historic downtown area holds picturesque antebellum homes, as Madison is one of Georgia’s oldest National Historic Districts. Milledgeville was once the capital of Georgia, and now serves as an eclectic college town with a still-remaining distinct southern charm. Home of Georgia College & State University, downtown “Milly” has a variety of local shops and small businesses intertwined throughout the city’s beautiful historic architecture.
