Does rein mls provide any training for the tools mentioned above?
Real estate professionals can access monthly training and support classes through the agent’s portal on the MLS’ website. They are welcome to do so once they become members of rein mls. The classes are free and cover everything agents need to learn to continue their development in the real estate industry, from CMA presentations to Advanced Transaction Management and Matrix tips.
How does a new member go about being added to the rein mls?
REIN membership is open only to real estate agents who are licensed and have joined the team of a REIN Broker Member. Licensed agents also need to attend rein mls’ Agent Orientation class within 60 days of their license certification date or the date they started working with the REIN Broker Member.
Are there any discounts for agents when joining REIN MLS?
Real estate agents may be able to get a discount on their membership. The discount consists of a reduced quarterly license fee. This benefit is available for agents affiliated with a broker member who belongs to rein mls and an additional MLS covering the same geographic area. In that scenario, REIN would be your secondary MLS.

How does rein mls provide MLS data syndication?
The listing syndication services provided by rein mls are broker-controlled. This means that brokers choose which of their firm’s listings will be shown by selecting whether or not to use the available services. Third-party websites receive REIN’s listings through RETS syndication standard.
What types of memberships does rein mls offer?
Real estate professionals interested in becoming members of rein mls have access to seven different membership categories, each with its own eligibility requirements. An individual engaged in real estate business or profession can choose between the following types of membership:

What are the requirements for membership in the MLS and IDX?
Here is a quick summary of the requirements for each type of MLS membership at rein mls:
Broker Membership: Licensed real estate brokerages, sole proprietorships, partnerships, firms, associations, and corporations licensed in the state of Virginia (and nearby states) and fully engaged in their work are eligible for this type of membership. Broker membership has two categories: Stockholder membership and Participant membership.
Agent & Licensed Assistant Membership: To be part of rein mls, real estate agents must be licensed with a current REIN Broker Member. Paid the necessary fees and attending the new member orientation class are part of the requirements. Licensed assistants follow the same membership guidelines.
Administrative Personnel: In order to use the rein mls services and tools on behalf of a broker, the administrative personnel must complete an Administrative Orientation course and obtain a REIN ID number. If that personnel is doing listing input, that needs to be authorized by the broker with a signed Broker Authorization for Administrative Personnel form they must submit to REIN for processing.
Unlicensed Assistants: Need to complete the Agent Orientation class and follow the steps to get their own REIN ID numbers.
Appraiser Membership: Real estate appraisers licensed to work in Virginia are eligible to become members of rein mls. In order to do so, applicants must submit the Appraiser Membership Application and the required documentation and fees.
Affiliate Membership: Individuals, partnerships, companies, organizations, firms, enterprises, governments entities or legal bodies engaged in a real estate service business or occupation are welcome to apply for this membership.
Vendor Data Feeds: Vendors sponsored by a REIN Broker Member can receive listing information via IDX, VOW, or Analytic Data Feed for rein mls products and services.

REIN does not provide continuing education classes, but training and support classes are updated each month on the agent’s portal to help members succeed in their businesses.

Founded in 1969, the Real Estate Information Network (REIN) has been considered one of the most accurate real estate information sources for all things real estate in the Hampton Roads area for more than half a century. Today, rein mls coverage has broadened from Williamsburg (east to Virginia Beach) and south to North Carolina’s border.
REIN resulted from integrating two different multiple listing services, the former Metro MLS, Inc. and the Virginia Peninsula Association of REALTORS® MLS. IDX (or Broker Reciprocity) is a program that allows MLS Participants to display listings from other brokerages on their own agent and office websites.
