Willamette Valley MLS, also known as wvmls, is a local, member-own, independent Multiple Listing Service focused on helping local agents thrive in the real estate sector, but also on helping Oregonian homebuyers locate a property, a broker, or a real estate company that can assist them with the process of buying or selling a home. Established in 1949, wvmls is headquartered in Salem and is considered Oregon’s first MLS.

How does a new member go about being added to the wvmls?

In order to be added to wvmls as a new member, an individual must hold a valid Oregon real estate license (or a valid license with the Oregon Board of Appraisers) that qualifies them to conduct real estate transactions under the Oregon real estate law. The wvmls Designated Member, that is often the Principal Broker, have control over the ListHub postings. Designated members can log in to ListHub and opt out of channels as they wish.

Real estate professionals can opt for the designated membership or the non-designated membership with wvmls by filling the application form available on their website.

What are the rules for IDX that wvmls asks members to follow?

The Internet Data Exchange Internet Data Exchange or IDX in wvmls is subject to the following rules (According to the WVMLS Participant Data Access Agreement):

  1. An IDX Member must own and control any IDX Site; branding on the site must make clear to any consumer visiting it that the site belongs to the IDX Member.
  2. wvmls shall provide an IDX Member a data feed including the IDX Data upon the IDX Member’s request, subject to these Rules and wvmls’s standard fees (as adopted by the Board of Directors). The feed may take any form directed by the Board of Directors (including FTP or RETS).
  3. Each IDX Member is permitted a single data feed or login. wvmls will update the IDX Data a minimum of once per week. 
  4. No IDX Member may make any use of the IDX Data except the operation of an IDX Site as provided for in these Rules. Except as expressly provided in these rules, an IDX Member may not disclose the IDX Data or any part of it to any party.
