Founded over 40 years ago, New Jersey MLS is a multiple listing service run by REALTORS® for REALTORS®. NJMLS provides more North Jersey real estate listings than any other source and has been the MLS choice for thousands of agents since 1977. Members of NJMLS have the advantage of knowing that they have accurate statistics, school information, property tax details, demographics, and other crucial information to share with their clients. Who are the governing bodies for NJMLS? 

The New Jersey Real Estate Commission (REC) is the governing body for New Jersey MLS.

How does a new member go about being added to the NJMLS?

Fill out an application and email it to membership@njmls.com. Once you are approved, you’ll need to sign up for the orientation class before you have access to the MLS. 

The application fee for New Jersey MLS is $65 and the annual membership fee is $222. You will receive payment instructions once your application is through and approved.

What kind of local real estate trends, statistics, and information does NJMLS provide to individual agents? 

NJMLS provides monthly statistics and trends for their market area through their website. More localized information for agents is available within their member portal.

Does NJMLS offer free continuing education (CE) classes? 

New Jersey MLS provides members with free real estate industry training courses, but none of them result in additional certification or licensing.

Listing Data

IDX (or Broker Reciprocity) is a program that allows MLS Participants to display listings from other brokerages on their own agent and office websites. Simply put, the IDX program manages the listing search utilities on internet displays owned and operated by local agents and offices. The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) created IDX and gives each MLS a strict set of guidelines on participation in the program and the display of the listings.
