Tallahassee is Florida’s capital city and the seventh-largest city in the state of Florida, with a population of 194,500. The Office of Management and Budget defines Tallahassee as the principal city of the Tallahassee Metropolitan Statistical area, making up about a third of the MSA’s population. The panhandle city is also home to Florida’s Capitol Building, the Supreme Court of Florida, the Florida Governor’s Mansion, and nearly 30 state agency headquarters. Tallahassee has a thriving arts, culture, and entertainment district featuring countless museums, a number of annual events, and the popular Railroad Square Art Park. Railroad Square is loved by Tally residents because it holds an abundance of sculptures, galleries, and small, locally-owned businesses. The art park also holds a monthly gallery hop, First Friday, where around 6,000 residents come together to experience local art. For a nice day spent in the outdoors, Tallahassee offers 700 miles of outdoor trails for all your hiking, biking, and horseback riding needs.
Tallahassee, much like the rest of the state of Florida, experiences hot summers and mild winters. The summer high in the area is around 92°F, and the winter low is around 39°F. Tallahassee receives an average of 59 inches of rainfall and little to no snow each year.
